Lijun Zhou graduated from Southwest Jiaotong University in 2001, 2004 and 2007 with bachelor's, master's and doctor's degrees and was employed as an associate professor, professor and doctoral supervisor of Southwest Jiaotong University in 2008, 2011 and 2013. Lijun Zhou has won the second prize of the national science and technology progress award, four first prizes and two second prizes at the provincial and ministerial levels. In recent years, the research group has focused on the key power supply equipment of high-speed railway and the new technology field of safety detection, and has made breakthroughs in the research content of energy conservation, lightweight and intelligence of traction transformers.

Anstract: This speech focuses on the energy conservation and safety of key power supply equipment of high-speed rail, describes the current situation of the power supply of high-speed rail in China from many aspects such as theoretical innovation, technological breakthrough and product development, and the research progress and achievements of the team in energy-saving traction transformers for rail transit and new safety detection technologies are mainly introduced.

Dr Syed Abdul Rehman Khan is an expert of Supply Chain and Logistics Management. Dr Khan achieved his CSCP—Certified Supply Chain Professional certificate from the U.S.A. and completed his PhD in China.
Since 2018, Dr Khan is a teacher of Logistics and Supply Chain Management. He has more than twelve years’ core experience of supply chain and logistics at industry and academic levels. He has attended several international conferences and also has been invited as a keynote speaker in different countries. He has published more than 100+ scientific research papers in different well-renowned international peer-reviewed journals (SSCI/SCI and ABS listed) and conferences, including couple of research paper indexed in Essential Science Indicators (ESI). During the last three years, Dr Khan has won 5 different national/provincial-level research projects. Besides, Dr Khan has achieved scientific innovation awards three times consecutively by the Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government, China. Further, Dr. Khan is the member of project evaluation board of APCIS – Supply Chain and Logistics, US; National Science Foundation and Ministry of Education, Oman; Science Foundation of Kazakistan; and Business Research and Service Institute, US.

Speech Title: The Indirect Effects of Relative Improvements in Road Mobility as Compared to Improvements in Road Accessibility (MPA) on Economic Growth.
Abstract: It was hypothesised that there are indirect effects of relative improvements in road mobility relative to improvements in road accessibility (MPA) on economic growth, which are conveyed via the effects of MPA on exports and urbanisation. Using panel data analysis from 1980 to 2010 for 60 countries, the indirect effects of the MPA on economic growth were estimated based on the predictions of three separate panel models: the first model links economic growth with exports and urbanisation; the second model links exports with the MPA; and the third model links urbanisation with the MPA. The estimated results indicate that an increase in MPA is connected with an increase in economic growth at lower export and urbanisation levels, but a decrease at greater export and urbanisation levels. In contrast, for the indirect effect of MPA on economic growth via urbanisation, the MPA level that maximises economic growth declines as physical capital stock per worker and per capita education levels increase. In conclusion, it is recommended that countries' policies that aim to improve MPA be implemented in conjunction with other socioeconomic, export, and urbanisation policies in order to achieve sustainable economic growth, particularly in low- and middle-income economies.
